Repair or Replace a Garage Door?

A dented bottom section is usually a panel swap. A door that is rusted through, out of square, or missing insulation may cost more to keep alive than to replace.

What still makes sense to repair

Repair the door if the frame is square, the tracks are straight, and only one or two sections are damaged. We match color as close as the mill run allows. Rollers, cables, hinges, and weather seal are cheaper than a new door and often fix the noise you called about.

Replace the door if several panels are delaminating, the steel is rusted at the joints, or the tracks were bent in a car strike and will not hold alignment. A new door also lets you add insulation, which matters in unconditioned Orange County garages that bake in August.

Springs and openers are separate decisions. A new door still needs correctly sized springs. An old opener can stay if it lifts the new door within its rated weight. We quote the door, the springs, and the opener as line items so you can pick.

We do not push a full replacement to hit a sales target. If a panel and a pair of springs solve it, that is the quote. Compare with garage door repair across Orange County and repair in Newport Beach.

Common questions

Is it cheaper to repair a garage door or replace it?

A single panel, cables, or springs is almost always cheaper than a new door. Several failed sections plus rusty tracks usually tips toward replacement. Call (949) 539-0009 and we quote both.

Can you replace one garage door panel?

Yes, if the manufacturer still runs that profile. Older wood doors are harder to match. Call (949) 539-0009 with a photo of the section.

Does a new door include new springs?

It should. Springs are sized to the door weight. We include that in the replacement quote. Call (949) 539-0009.

Not sure which way to go?

We inspect on-site and quote repair and replacement as separate options.
